Itโ€™s somehow always a mystery to me how chicken breast can be cooked this good and juicy. Itโ€™s so hard to achieve it when I want to cook it and chill at home! But this place gives both the restaurant quality + homecooked flavors that one craves for in busy city. Lady staff was nice and food was served real quick! Chicken was soooo good, mash was creamy and the waffles? Amazzziiingโ™ฅ๏ธ Really a must visit when youโ€™re in brisbane!

My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant on a Tuesday night. They were pretty packed but still found us a table. We got the fried eggplant, chicken fried chicken, gumbo, and garlic butter curly fries. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the fried eggplant, Iโ€™d say they were my favourite. It was flavourful, well battered, and something about it tasted like pickles. The fried chicken was perfectly crunchy and seasoned well. I donโ€™t really care about gumbo but my bf gobbled it up so I guess thatโ€™s that. And the fries!! Pricey for fries but definitely worth it. The garlic butter was so good and it was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Iโ€™m thinking of bringing my family here for my graduation dinner. Now I know to book even on a weeknight. Also the waitress was so on top of it!! Felt like American service tbh she always had her eye on everyone, filled our waters on whenever she could, communicated very well, and the food came out fast. I did ask for a straw for my drink and I think she forgot but other than that the service was great :)

Wow wow wow. Where do I start. Have been here a number of times in the past few years and they knock it out of the park everytime. Too many dishes to review. Management and staff are the sweetest, most lovely and accomodating people, even during an intense Thanksgiving rush. Our favourites so far ๐Ÿ— Chicken fried chicken - We dream about this CONSTANTLY. Delicious crispy chicken with slapping slaw. Yumbo ๐Ÿฅฃ Gumbo - Never misses, quality has been consistent throughout the years, warm and toasty and comforting. Portion size has been slowly dwindling tho but thatโ€™s just the cozzie livs (I will still order it idc) ๐Ÿฎ Bread pudding - So rich! Perfect combination of warmth and creamy coldness from the ice cream. ๐Ÿค Seafood lasagna - Could not be any more perfect. An incredible special dish, get it when itโ€™s there! ๐ŸŽƒ Pumpkin pie - Our first time trying pumpkin pie and we have been converted. Wow. If youโ€™re looking to go, go!

I had a wonderful experience as soon as I walked in. The place look warm, inviting and had a great vibe from the music playing to the super friendly workers, specially the amazing busy bee Jack from behind the bar, who make a beautiful and smooth coffee martini. I started by having the Kangaroo Tataki as an entree; which was amazing and melt in the mouth and with collard green chimichurri sauce beautiful savoury. For the main had the Gumbo Ya Ya; which was beautiful, rich and aromatic and got told to add a certain hot sauce they had, which took it to the next level and made it very comforting. Lastly for dessert I had the indulgent Sour Cherry Bread Pudding which was delightful symphony of flavours from the sour of the cherry, the creamy bourbon cherry anglaise and the perfect vanilla bean ice cream. But had a pumpkin pie to go, because I never it before and really wanted to and just tried alittle bit and omg itโ€™s perfectly balanced of spiced pumpkin and with a big dollop of cream. So after everything I had, which is a chefโ€™s kiss, definitely will be coming back, worth the 5 hours train trip. Also will be recommending to everyone I know.

What a great little restaurant in Brisbane! It was almost full before 6pm on a Monday, so definitely recommend getting there early or making a reservation. Service was friendly, and the dining atmosphere was warm and bustling. More importantly, the food was perfect - definitely recommend the fried chicken and the creole fries! And while the gumbo may have been a bit smoky for others, we really loved it. The hot sauce provided also went beautifully with the food. Definitely worth visiting (multiple times)!
