Honestly this is one of the best cafes in Launceston. Staff who want to be there and pride themselves on customer satisfaction. Plus being completely coeliac friendly means you can come and eat here with any of your friends without the worry of causing gluten issues. And no-one would know any different as all food tastes incredible. Top job Samuel Pepy’s
As soon as we walked in, it was fairly quiet, we picked a table with 4 chairs downstairs. I picked it because I am recently just walking after several operations. The gentleman staff loudly said, table for 2, please sit here. So I had to pick my handbag, and pull back the chair I had pulled out and was about to sit after hobbling so slow in the street. I just wanted to sit down. He placed us in the corner with tiny table. One of our order was my chai latte with oat milk, he said they don't have oat milk, but offered almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk or normal milk. We said that I am allergic to almonds, and can't have soy products and coconut products (I didn't tell him I have thyroid cancer and going through treatment, and those milk, including normal milk is not allowed). So we said OK for normal milk. In the end I just drank 1/3 and left the rest. It was also a powder chai, not the leaf and spice chai I had hoped. The breakfast we ordered was OK. The poached eggs were overcooked. But tastewise, was good. It was just awkward to eat too because our table was so small, the two plates can't even fit as you can see in the picture (hence I had wanted to sit in a table with 4 chairs because the two plates will definitely fit). We didn't want to go upstairs due to my health condition (thankfully I left my mobility walker in the car or we won't fit at all). Anyhow, we ate our breakfast, chatting away about our day ahead. When we finished, as we were paying, my partner produced his debit card, while I pick my bag and wait for him, and the same gentleman asked, "paying together"? My partner said yes and we both felt odd and looked at each other. Anyway, he was chatting away, telling us to enjoy the day ahead. My partner asked if he knew whether there's a facility at Cataract Gorge where a wheelchair or mobility chair will be accommodated. We asked since we are not from Tasmania. He confidently said No, there wouldn't be any because of the chairlift. We said thanks and we left. Thank goodness we followed our instinct because to our great surprise, there is an elevator facility that stops to all levels at Cataract Gorge. So that is the reason why I am only giving this place 3 stars because of the gentleman who served us.
A lovely cafe with amazing food and coffee! Staffs were really friendly, and I loved all the little spoon decorations displayed throughout the cafe❤️.
A large but adorable cafe with cute decor, friendly service, and great food. The upstairs seating is huge! They give you an estimated waiting time for food which was much appreciated. So far, they have underpromised and overdelivered. The mushroom dish was delicious! The poached eggs are perfectly cooked and the hash browns are to die for. Need to come back to try more items in their menu!
My partner and I love this place. For me, it's especially amazing because it's all 100% gluten free. I can say for a fact it is because I haven't had any gluten reactions yet. Today we both got the Kylie KFC waffles. He has the full serve, I had the half serve. They are incredible. The staff are absolutely incredible, they are polite, very friendly and passionate about both their jobs and where they work. 25/10 would recommend. Will be moving to Launceston, definitely will be my local spot soon 😁
